Today on the way back from the Tour of California I stopped in at Wynfield Hounds for a visit with Dave and Pete. It was a last minute decision as I hadn’t spoken with Ellen at Wynfield for a couple of months and I hadn’t made an appointment. When I called Ellen she gladly accepted my request and we made our way over!
What a fabulous time! You’ve got to check out the photos I took that day. It was SO amazing to see some harriers in the flesh! The dogs were extremely worked up when we got there, which was more than fine with me. It was neat to see their real personalities - and boy did they have them! Obviously I am biased, but these are VERY beautiful dogs, fantastic examples of the breed.
One of the driving factors for my visit was Luna, one of Wynfield’s bitches, was pregnant and Jacquie and I are hoping to get one of the puppies from her litter. Unfortunately I didn’t get a great picture of Luna, but here’s one courtesy of the Wynfield website (www.wynfieldhounds.com):
And here’s one of the litter’s sire, Quiz:
Quiz is is a fantastic example of a male harrier, and I personally think his colouring is amazing!
Anyway, I got the chance to chat with Ellen about how things were going with Luna and what our chances were of getting a puppy... The visit went very well, and it was fabulous to finally meet Ellen and Doug!
Don’t forget to check out the photos page!
